Testudo ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and giving you control over your data.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, where it is stored, and the choices you have when using Testudo.

Because Testudo supports both local and cloud-based storage, the way your data is handled depends on the storage option you choose. Some features also allow you to use your own AI provider API keys (Bring Your Own Key, or BYOK).

We believe privacy should be transparent, predictable, and easy to understand. This Privacy Policy is written in plain language to help you understand how your information is handled.

By creating an account or using Testudo, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

We only collect the information necessary to provide and improve Testudo.

Depending on how you use the service, this may include your account information, email address, application settings, conversation history stored in cloud mode, and information related to your use of the application.

If you join our waitlist, we store the email address you provide so we can notify you about product updates and launch announcements.

We do not collect more information than is reasonably necessary to operate the service.

We use your information to provide the Testudo service, authenticate your account, synchronize your data when cloud storage is enabled, respond to support requests, improve reliability, and communicate important product updates.

We may also use aggregated and anonymous usage information to better understand how the product is used and to improve future versions of Testudo.

We do not sell your personal information.

When you choose Local Storage, your conversations and application data are stored on your own device.

Local data is intended to remain under your control and is not stored as conversation history on our servers. However, requests sent to AI providers are still securely processed through our backend infrastructure in order to deliver responses.

Choosing Local Storage gives you greater control over where your conversation history is kept while still allowing Testudo to provide AI functionality.

When Cloud Storage is enabled, your conversations and related application data are securely stored on our servers so they can be synchronized across your devices and restored when you sign in.

Cloud storage is optional and can be selected based on your preferences.

Testudo supports multiple AI providers and may allow you to connect your own provider API keys through Bring Your Own Key (BYOK).

Regardless of whether you use your own API keys or Testudo-managed providers, requests are securely processed through our backend infrastructure before reaching the selected AI provider.

Each AI provider processes requests according to its own privacy policies and terms. We encourage you to review those policies before using your own provider credentials.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

While no system can guarantee absolute security, we continuously work to improve the security and reliability of the Testudo platform.

We retain your information only for as long as it is necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

If you decide to delete your account, we will make reasonable efforts to remove or anonymize the personal information associated with it.

Depending on your location and applicable laws, you may have the right to access, update, correct, or delete your personal information.
